About Lightberry
Lightberry builds the software layer for expressive, interactive robots. We combine voice AI, perception, and behavior systems so robots can understand people and respond naturally.
We are a small, hands-on team based in San Francisco, working across software, hardware, design, and research to turn new capabilities into robots people can interact with today.
We care about thoughtful craft, fast iteration, and shipping real systems into the world.
Robots with Souls
Yep, you read that right.
Robots are here, but they ship with no software. They’re all mute, deaf, and blind out of the box. The only way to get the robot to do anything is to write code. This is insane.
We want robots to behave like in the movies: proactive, caring, aware.
The role
Lightberry sells real robots to real businesses. You’ll own the work that gets them from a first conversation to a delivered machine.
That means running RobotBerry, our Unitree robot distribution business: finding customers, giving demos, closing deals, and coordinating the suppliers, contracts, customs, and crates behind every delivery.
What you’ll do
- Run RobotBerry end to end: customer conversations, demos, quotes, deals, orders, and delivery.
- Build relationships with companies buying Unitree robots, understand what they need, and help them choose the right setup.
- Own our relationships with Unitree and our robot, sensor, and parts suppliers around the world.
- Negotiate contracts, manage orders, and keep hardware flowing through customs and into customers’ hands.
- Turn trade shows, conferences, and robot demos into new business.
- Travel: suppliers and customers are in China, Japan, the US, and beyond.
What’s needed
We don’t care about degrees or big-company titles. Show us complicated things you’ve sold and made happen. We do need:
- 中文. You speak Chinese. Much of our supply chain does too — for this role it’s required, not bonus.
- Sales. You’ve sold large machines — or something like them — to business customers, from first meeting through a signed deal.
- Operator. You don’t hand a deal off and disappear. You stay close until the robot reaches the customer and works as promised.
- Logistics. You’ve handled supply chains, imports, hardware operations, or another physical process with no room for hand-waving.
- Travel. You’re happy on planes: suppliers, trade shows, and customers are everywhere.
Bonus points
- Robotics. You’ve worked with robotics or hardware companies before.
- Startups. You’ve worked at a startup or pre-Series B company and are used to owning problems end to end.
One last thing…
Don’t apply if…
- You can’t stand chaos
- You’d work remotely every day if you could
- You’re not a people-person
- You’re pessimistic about tech, AI, and the future
Apply if…
- You want to do your life’s work
- You care about developing and expressing your craft
- You love intense, fast-paced environments
- You like getting your hands dirty, no work is beneath you
- Life’s short, why work on B2B AI SAAS infra slop when you could work on speaking robots?
