Yep, you read that right.

Robots are here, but they ship with no software. They’re all mute, deaf, and blind out of the box. The only way to get the robot to do anything is to write code. This is insane.

We want robots to behave like in the movies: proactive, caring, aware.

The role

Lightberry designs the parts that give robots their character. You’ll build the production system that makes those parts repeatable, inspectable, and ready to install.

You’ll work across suppliers, engineering, quality, packaging, and transport. You’ll help strengthen our US supply chain while making sure our parts integrate cleanly with robot chassis developed by companies in China.

What you’ll do

Plan production with engineering and suppliers, including quantities, schedules, materials, and readiness gates.
Set up incoming inspections, in-process quality checks, and clear acceptance criteria for every part.
Design end-of-line tests, fixtures, checklists, and traceability so defects are caught before shipment.
Develop packaging and transport methods that protect parts through storage, handling, and delivery.
Manage supplier performance across quality, yield, lead time, cost, and rework.
Help build and improve Lightberry’s supply chain in the US.
Coordinate interfaces and delivery schedules with robot chassis suppliers in China.

What’s needed

We don’t care about a particular degree or industry pedigree. Show us production systems you’ve made more reliable. We do need:

Production. You’ve managed the manufacture of physical parts or assemblies from plan through delivery.
Quality. You can turn an engineering requirement into an inspection, test, acceptance limit, and record.
Hands-on. You’re comfortable on the floor checking parts, debugging failures, and improving the process with the people doing the work.
Suppliers. You set clear expectations, surface risks early, and hold vendors accountable without damaging the relationship.
Systems. You build simple production controls that make quality and status visible.

Bonus points

中文. You speak Chinese and can work directly with robot chassis suppliers in China.
Robotics. You’ve built parts or assemblies for robots, vehicles, or other complex electromechanical products.
Design for manufacturing. You can work with engineers to simplify assembly, inspection, service, and scale-up.
